Children can enrol in education from the day they turn 4. Compulsory education starts when they turn 5. Your child is then required to participate in all lessons provided by the school during school hours.
In certain circumstances, special leaves of absence may be obtained for school-age children outside the school holidays. An application form may be obtained from the school secretariat.

The school can only authorise permission on the basis of an employer’s statement showing that time off during official holidays is not an option.
